Past 12 years I arrange this trip for 5-7 groups each year Duck & Goose hunting Saskatchewan, Canada
Last 7-8 years 5 groups and Have 3 week period last two full weeks in Sept and last few days of Sept and 1st few day of Oct Same people going each year KEEPING their week.
With out going into details Group which has been hunting with me for over 20 years and 10 years Saskatchewan keeping same week best of BEST they will NOT be going for couple years so this week is open this year 2009
Sept 13th through Sept 19th 5 day hunting Monday 14th through noon Friday 18th.
I have hunted Canada for over 24 years. I have been approached several times by outfitters/guides wanting me to represent and book people to hunt with them. I have always been uncomfortable mostly with location and how they were conducting their hunting. Seems across bottom 1/3 of Saskatchewan from Regina to Swift Current things has really got commercialized.
Lot of competition - Too much! I went farther North!
Hunt Geese till noon return lodge for lunch – short Siesta then its Duck hunting in the afternoon. Goose hunting will be from a blind - framed with heavy wire and willow & nature material for cover. Duck hunting will be from nature cover & blind - can you imagine on good day 4-5 guys getting 30-40 Geese of morning then 40 Ducks in afternoon?
Cost: 4 people in group $2,400 per person for 5 days hunting. It is 2 hour drive from Saskatoon to lodge. This includes everything after you arrive Lodge except hunting license and stamps total about $140+ US$ and shells. If you fly group will need rent vehicle at airport and and tips.
BOTTOM LINE COST time leave home till return is $3,700 - $3,900
This includes Hunt $2,400 + Airline ticket $600 + Rent S U V & Gas $200 + License $140 + Tips $160 + Shells $200 + Staying overnight Saskatoon / Sandman lodge $100
